The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and may shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house by using a combined gross domestic earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house profits does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle more info is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected of their South African ID.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
